Programme

The Scottish Clarinet Choir is delighted to be performing again at St Mary's in the 2026 Fringe Festival, playing a varied programme of works from Smetana, Holst, Elgar, alongside a piece written specifically for the SCC by Stuart Rynn.

Biography

The Scottish Clarinet Choir was formed in January 2019 under the directorship of John Cushing and is made up of professional players, teachers, students and primarily amateurs from all over Scotland. The Scottish Clarinet Choir gave its inaugural concert in April 2019 at the Queen Victoria School in Dunblane featuring Yann Ghiro, Principal Clarinet with BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, as guest soloist and two world premieres composed specially for the occasion. The Choir continue to rehearse monthly at the Queen Victoria School and have recently given concerts in Dunblane, Stirling and Edinburgh as part of the 2025 Fringe Festival.
