Free lunchtime recitals every day from 1st to 31st August, except Sundays and 16th. An opportunity to hear emerging and established artists performing in a wide variety of styles, genres, and instruments.  This long-running series is undoubtedly one of the hidden gems of the Fringe.

Aquillos Winds | Barbara Richerby (flute), Chris Crosby (oboe), John Peacock (clarinet), Ian Kille (horn), Barbara Crosby (bassoon)

  • Beethoven - Quintet in Eb Major (arranged by Mordechai Rectman from the Octet Op. 103): Allegro, Andante, Menuet and 2 trios, Presto
  • Nielsen - Wind Quintet Op 43: Allegro ben moderato, Menuet, Praeludium, Theme and Variations

Aquillos Winds were formed in 2009 and have performed at every Edinburgh Festival since then. The players are all well known musicians, mostly in the Edinburgh area, and can be heard in orchestras including Scottish Sinfonia and the Meadows Chamber Orchestra.
