About
The Edinburgh Singers finish their 2022/23 season with a performance of the 19th century's most enduring oratorio, Elijah. Mendelssohn's dramatic portrayal of the prophet Elijah is packed full of stirring choruses and beautiful solo writing.
The choir welcomes back Musical Director Alistair Digges from a year's sabbatical, which has seen him working with Nederlandse Reisopera. The choir has engaged a stellar line up of soloists, with Scottish soprano and winner of the BBC Radio 3 Kiri Prize Shuna Scott Sendall, former Scottish Opera Emerging Artist Louise Collett, Alexander Gibson Opera School graduate Cameron Mitchell, and Scottish baritone Christopher Nairne who has been enjoying success in roles at Opera North and English National Opera. The Edinburgh Singers Sinfonia features many of Scotland's leading professional musicians, led by Justine Watts, the leader of the Scottish Ballet Orchestra.
In the stunning setting of St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, this promises to be a very special evening!
