About

Calling all Climate Activists and Creative Minds!

Join us for the follow-up meeting from Edinburgh SPRINGBOARD 2.0, where we delve into the powerful intersection of art, culture, and climate action. Hosted by ECCAN (Edinburgh Communities Climate Action Network), in collaboration with A+E at St Mary Cathedral and Creative Carbon Scotland, this event promises to be a catalyst for change and inspiration.

Date and Time: Friday, June 21st from 11.45am - 4.30pm (includes vegetarian lunch)

Location: St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, Palmerston Pl, Edinburgh EH12 5AW - Walpole Hall and Song School

Open to all community groups, community projects, climate activists, artists of any kind, and friends of ECCAN, Creative Carbon Scotland and A+E

Objectives:

  • Explore how art, culture, and creativity can effectively engage people in climate action.
  • Discuss the potential impact of art in expanding community outreach and fostering environmental awareness.
  • Engage in networking and brainstorming sessions to explore innovative ways art can be utilised to advance climate action.
  • Facilitate matchmaking between artists and organisations/projects.
  • Gain practical insights through examples of successful A+E projects and their impact on people's attitudes and behaviours.
  • Plant the seed of incorporating art into ECCAN's seed grant funding applications.
  • Launch a series of learning exchange visits, where we'll explore how embedded artists and artists in residence have shaped community-led climate projects.

Join us as we embark on a journey to harness the transformative power of art in the fight against climate change. Together, let's create a sustainable future through creativity and collaboration.
