About

Daughters of Donbas — Songs of Stolen Children is a music and human rights project that highlights the plight of at least 20,000 Ukrainian children abducted from occupied Ukraine and taken to Russia.

Singer, musician, human rights advocate and war correspondent, Marichka is the powerful lead voice of the project, in which she performs with a string quartet and bandurist Alina Kuzma. Marichka is a former member of Canadian folk ensembles Lemon Bucket Orkestra and Balaklava Blues and has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Barbican Centre and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and won an Amnesty International Prize.

Marichka has been travelling back and forth between Canada and Ukraine to research this project: meeting families that are victims of this horrific crime.

Join us at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral in Edinburgh on January 29th for this unique concert that combines art and journalism. Proceeds from the event will go to…
