About

The Costa Rica Guitar Quartet brings the colours and rhythms of Latin America to St Mary’s Cathedral in a programme featuring instrumental music from Costa Rica and across the region. Founded in 2008, the ensemble has performed throughout Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, including an appearance at the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman. Their repertoire combines original works, contemporary music and arrangements for four guitars, offering audiences a distinctive journey through the musical traditions and landscapes of Latin America. The quartet has released three albums and has been an Augustine Strings artist ensemble since 2023.


Biography

Founded in 2008, the Costa Rica Guitar Quartet is one of Costa Rica’s leading guitar ensembles, dedicated to promoting the music of Costa Rica and Latin America through original works, arrangements and contemporary repertoire for four guitars.
