The current period is extremely difficult for MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians) for two reasons
- Increased levels of violence in Israel and Palestine have placed an unprecedented strain on the medical charity. MAP’s ambulance crews and medics have also been targeted.
- Secondly, the world’s eyes are turned to Ukraine. Most high-profile fund-raising events are aimed at supporting their effort to stop the Russian invasion.
As a result, just when MAP need support more than ever, very little is coming in.
Fiddler Aidan O’Rourke, piper Brighde Chaimbeul, Saxophonist Tommy Smith and Palestinian dancer Nada Shawa come together for a concert in St Mary’s Cathedral on May 13th as a closing event for a week of Palestinian activities.
Please attend and, if you are unable to, please make a donation. MAP are short of even the most basic supplies including swabs and surgical gloves. Every penny will count.
