A long-running and popular series of lunchtime recitals in one of Edinburgh's most beautiful concert spaces. Today, singers Jennifer Craig and Marion Ramsay, with pianist Kristine Donnan, perform various solos and duets, including famous duets by Humperdinck and Pergolesi.

This long-running and very popular series of lunchtime recitals features a wide variety of performers, playing and singing in one of Edinburgh's most beautiful concert spaces. These concerts are free by donation, and a perfect way to spend a lunchtime during the busy festival!

Biographies

Jennifer Craig hails from Co. Derry, Northern Ireland, and studied singing at Edinburgh Napier, the Butler School of Music (Pennsylvania) and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She made her operatic debut in 2010 with Edinburgh Grand Opera playing the role of Dama Di Lady in Verdi’s Macbeth. Additional performances include the role of Adelle (Die Fledermaus), Michele (Carmen), Marenka (The Bartered Bride) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni). For the past 13 years Jennifer has worked alongside the children of West Lothian Council in YMI and Creative Scotland funded projects, as well as creating two projects called ‘Voice Rocks’ in Winchburgh and Stirling, using music and singing to improve mental health in the community. Jennifer would like to dedicate this performance to her wonderful late father.

Marion Ramsay has built a reputation as an excellent musician and has performed with many acclaimed choral societies across the United Kingdom. Originally from the Island of Islay, Marion was awarded a Diploma in Western Music from Leeds College of Music (1999), a Bachelor of Music (Hons) from Napier University (2003) and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Concert Singing (2008) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Opera Studies (2009) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Marion is also a qualified Paralegal specializing in the Administration of Estates.

Kristine Donnan is in demand as a piano accompanist répétiteur, conductor and organist across Scotland. She is Musical Director of Edinburgh Studio Opera and EUMS Sinfonia in Edinburgh; Musical Director of The Glasgow Cathedral Choral Society and The Glasgow Caledonia University Choir. Kristine enjoys piano and organ accompaniment for several choirs including some of RSNO’s Community Choirs and The Kelvin Choir in Bearsden. Kristine holds a Masters in piano accompaniment from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and received the Piano Accompaniment Award as well as the Sam Hutchings Scholarship for Piano Accompaniment.
