Dreams of Peace & Freedom

August 31 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

A performance in support of the international petition demanding a tribunal to enact justice for victims of Russian aggression in Ukraine.

Song cycle, Dreams of Peace & Freedom tells, in his own words, David Maxwell Fyfe’s story as a prosecutor at the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal, assembling evidence of crimes against peace, humanity and the conduct of war, cross-examining leading Nazis alongside musical settings of the poems that inspired him.

Throughout May, English Cabaret formed of members of David Maxwell Fyfe’s family, is performing because the Ukrainians have asked the international community for a Nuremberg-style tribunal to establish the guilt of the Russian leaders in carrying out this aggression. The victims of this aggression demand justice, and survivors crave justice to rebuild society after barbarity.

This story tells that it has been done and can be done again.
