August is a very special month in the life of the Cathedral as the Edinburgh Festival leaps into life. From our website you can see just how much and indeed how varied the Cathedral’s contribution is: from a play about today’s refugees to the stories of “Women of the West End” who individually and corporately made a huge impact, and so much more. The Cathedral is a place of music. It is also a place of praise and prayer. Our three spires make me look up to the source of life’s great festival; the Cathedral’s cruciform shape also reminds me just how many in our world live on the fringe where indeed he lived.
Do visit. Celebrate the festival of life. Pause and remember all on the fringes of our world and try and see in them his face.
