Graham Forbes has been Provost of the Cathedral since 1990. After degrees in Russian and Theology he was ordained in 1976 and served as a Curate in Old St Paul’s. He was appointed Provost of St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth in 1982. The Provost is responsible for all aspects of the Cathedral’s life and worship. Outwith the church, he chairs the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland, OSCR (The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator) and the Court of Edinburgh Napier University. He chairs the UK Committee on Ethical Aspects of Pandemic Influenza and is a member of the Armed Forces Pay Review Body and the Security Vetting Appeals Panel.  He was awarded the CBE in 2003 for ‘public service in Scotland’. His wife, Jane, is an English teacher, and they have 3 sons, 3 grandsons and three beautiful granddaughters.
