The Scottish Episcopal Church and The Diocese of Edinburgh PDF Print E-mail

What is the Scottish Episcopal Church?

The sign outside the Cathedral says "The Scottish Episcopal Church - in full communion with the Anglican Church". The SEC is essentially the same church as the Church of England, with a few distinctive differences. Like the Church of England, it is organised into dioceses - Scotland is divided into seven of these. Each diocese has a bishop. The job of a bishop is primarily to look after the people and clergy in his diocese.
