A Collect for Peace

Eternal GOD, in whose perfect kingdom no sword is drawn but the sword of righteousness, and no strength known but the strength of love; GUIDE and inspire, we pray, the leaders of the nations that all may find their security not in force of arms, but in the perfect love that casts out fear; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN

The Society of Friends of St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral was founded in 1959. Funds raised by the Friends are devoted to beautifying the building, improving the amenities or enriching the furnishings. The AGM provides an opportunity to meet socially, attend Evensong and listen to a speaker on a topical Cathedral issue.

The Friends also organise occasional outings.
