The Presence

The Faith + Growth Group seeks to enhance knowledge of the Faith and of the Bible, increase awareness of the spiritual dimension of our beliefs, and provide a basis in the Cathedral community for personal growth in our shared faith. All of these aspects of our work are important to the Cathedral as a place of worship, prayer and learning for all members of the congregation. Most of the activities are led by experienced lay people as well as the clergy. Experts from outside of the congregation provide invaluable and essential resources for specfic events. Our events tend to be on Monday evenings, starting at 8pm and finishing with refreshments 90 minutes later. For people who find it difficult to get out in the evening, some of these events take place on weekdays or Saturdays, using various venues in and around the Cathedral, as well as members' homes for more informal groups.

Planned for the current season is an evening series on Christian Ethics and we'll again be offering the Ecumenical Lent Study Groups. We shall also be offering evenings covering specific topics such as Creation and Poverty, and there will be some special services in the Cathedral.

All these activities aim to reflect the needs and interests of the members of the congregation. If you would like to take part, or obtain more information, please contact either the Convenor for Faith and Growth, a member of the clergy or the Cathedral Office.
